Description

Scientific literacy is key to understanding the climate crisis and taking action for change.

The Hitchcock Center plays a critical role in providing fact-based, age-appropriate climate change instruction in our community and beyond. Our Living Building has become an integral part of our new curricula, modeling hope and possibility for solving real-world problems.

Please join us as we share in good company, enjoy a delicious brunch, raise funds for a healthy planet, and learn about how the Hitchcock Center is modeling positive, action-oriented programming for our teachers, youth, families, and community.

Thanks to the generosity of our individual and business sponsors, there is no cost to attend the brunch. Guests will be invited to make a gift to the Hitchcock Center to support our year-round environmental education programs.

Education helps develop a community that understands connections among the human health, ecosystems and economies. The Hitchcock Center connects people with nature and encourages a deeper emotional bond with the natural world that sustains us all.

Founded in 1962, the Hitchcock Center for the Environment fosters awareness and understanding of our environment through programs with a particular focus on children, who live in a world of environmental challenges.

Our educational framework centers on five fundamentals:

  • Understanding principles of ecology
  • Valuing place
  • Promoting resilience
  • Demonstrating sustainability in the built environment
  • Educating for active citizenship
